Frequently Asked Questions

What has your self-publishing journey been like?

Not going to lie, it has been tough, and if you’re someone who really stays clear of challenges, you will find it a bit tedious because it is demanding. It entirely depends on your schedule and budget, and what works for you. I chose the Self-Publishing route because I realised I wanted control of my story and my timelines, and publishers were not willing to offer that. It is a struggle to find publishers you can work with smoothly if you’re a budding author, but I will truly advise all new authors to try self-publishing.

How can I get signed copies?

The best way to get signed copies will be to shop on my website. Prices may differ slightly, but that is only because of the double shipping costs; but don’t panic, I will do my best to keep it less pricey.

What genres does J.B. Bozie usually write?

All genres! But I usually gravitate towards crime thrillers, as that is my ‘niche’. MISFIT was for me a challenge, as it was the first sci-fi fantasy book I ever wrote. But yes, I will say I am open to giving a go to as many as I possibly can, currently working on a children’s book as well. Look out for my thrillers as you might see them on Amazon soon.

Can I purchase your books outside of the UK?

Absolutely! Currently, you can only purchase the KINDLE edition on pre-order, but paperbacks and hardcovers can be purchased after the 23rd of October however, you can only get them after the 11th of November, since that’s been set as the official release date for Misfit. That being said, you should be able to get it shipped to you wherever you are.

What is the most challenging aspect of writing a book?

I think this differs for everyone, and if by writing you mean the creating process, it is the structure. The fluidity in dialogue and deciding the diction based on the target audience. But if you mean the entire process of writing a book, from manuscript to final draft, it definitely is editing.

What is the book Misfit about?

Misfit is a genre-bending sci-fi novel that spans centuries, from 699 AD to 4300AD. Following interconnected souls across time. It is a story about heritage, destiny, and what it means to find home when you’ve always felt ‘different’.
